Volunteer Fundraisers
Help to research fundraising opportunities. Organising fundraising events. Help completing fundraising applications. Get involved with charity stalls at local fetes and other events. Help with online fundraising. We are looking for people to become involved in the following ways:
Fundraising Volunteer
Purpose of the role
To assist the bureau in obtaining resources for the service. This could be:
money
help in kind
equipment.
Main duties and responsibilities may include:
Identifying possible sources of funding in the community such as:
local businesses
individuals
charitable trusts.
Working with the manager to fit funders to projects being developed in the local office.
Developing a relationship with local funders so that they are aware of Citizens Advice Fareham activities.
Developing and maintaining a database of supporters.
Developing a ‘Friends of Citizens Advice Fareham' group to encourage and promote community fundraising.
Facilitating the fundraising sub-committee within the local office; arranging meetings etc.
Assisting with the drafting of funding applications
Drafting publicity materials for fundraising campaigns.
Personal skills and qualities that a fundraiser needs:
A commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service.
To understand the importance of confidentiality.
The ability to write clear reports.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
The ability to analyse and evaluate information.
A willingness to attend training and other meetings.
To be approachable and friendly.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Events Volunteer
This is a role you can volunteer for either on a regular basis, or for one off events, or add your name to a list of people we can call on, when an event arises, to see if they are able to help with that event.
Purpose of the role
To assist the local office in holding events such as open days and roadshows.
To assist the local office in obtaining resources for the service. This could be money, help in kind or equipment.
Main duties and responsibilities may include:
Assisting the local office management team in managing and promoting Citizens Advice Fareham publicity events.
Monitoring the success of events held.
Researching the viability of events e.g. in shopping centres or at fetes.
Identifying possible sources of funding in the community such as local businesses, individuals or charitable trusts.
Personal skills and qualities that an event organiser needs:
A commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Ability to think laterally about events the local office could hold.
A willingness to attend training and other meetings.
Ability to work on own initiative.
To be able to work as part of a team.
Enthusiasm and confidence.
Excellent organisational skills.
To be approachable and friendly
